Accessibility statement

What we target, what has been tested, what is known to fall short, and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.

Target

This site is built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the benchmark referenced by EN 301 549 and therefore by the European Accessibility Act. Where WCAG 2.2 criteria are straightforward to meet, they have been.

What that means in practice

  • Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring.
  • Text contrast was measured rather than estimated. The brand red is used as a fill and for large display type only; a lighter tone is used for small text on dark surfaces and a darker one on light surfaces, so body copy always clears 4.5:1.
  • Colour is never the only thing carrying meaning.
  • All motion respects prefers-reduced-motion. With it enabled the site is fully functional: transitions collapse to a single frame, scroll reveals resolve immediately, and the hero radar illustration holds still.
  • The site works with JavaScript disabled: all content is readable, all links work, and the brief form submits.
  • Headings follow document structure rather than visual size, so the outline makes sense to a screen reader.
  • Form errors are announced as text next to the field, not signalled by colour alone.

Known limitations

Listed here so the statement stays accurate:

  • The hero radar illustration is decorative. It is marked aria-hidden and carries no information that is not also in the surrounding text, but a sighted visitor still receives a visual treatment a screen reader user does not.
  • Automated testing has been run. A full manual audit with assistive technology across screen readers and browsers has not yet been completed. Until then, this statement reflects targeted testing, not a certified result.
